Icon2 Brake pedal on the floor! help!

Ok so this is really starting to annoy me....

My friends 93 del sol si is having some brake problms.. it all began after i put in a clutch for him over the weekend... i thought that when we were holding the brakes down to bust the axle nuts free we popped the seal in the master cylinder... the brakes went from perfect to spongy and the pedal went further to the floor... so today i installed a new master cylinder i bench bleed it and i bleed all the lines from rear to front several hundred thousand times and sice i put in the master now the pedal sits damn near on the floor.. the brakes work fine but the pedal is ****... i wonder if this is due to the push rod needing adjustment or what?? even tho i tried to extend the pushrod out a bit it isnt anywhere near where it should be... im half tempted to go to the dealership at this point and ive been wrenchin on hondas for years.... PLZ HELP!!! thx in advance!!

i would look to pushrod adjustment, if the back has drums make sure they are adjusted, if that doesnt work maybe the boost or check valve?

if it goes to the floor it means there is no pressure in the line. check rear wheel cylinders. try pulling of a brake line from the mc and see if fluid comes out when u push the pedal in. if not then its not hitting the mc. with the push rod, bring it out a lot and keep test fitting the mc until its just like not barely hitting the mc. hows the clutch?

The clutch is awesome! (it's my car that he helped install it in) But the brakes are giving us a headache!! We just replaced the master cylinder like he stated and it's doing the same thing as before. I kinda have to pump them to build pressure to stop. All the brakes are brand new ( Besides the master cylinder, which is now new) We have blead the brakes like 500 times no joke and theres no air in the lines what so ever. I'm really close to taking it to honda but i would rather have someone on here help me out first.

No not at all, Holds fluid great. That was the first thing we thought of but it's pretty sound.

it you have to pump for pressure, then its seals somewhere. I would say the booster..maybe the diaphragm inside is bad. or the air valve in it is broke.

Internal bypassing is my guess. seeing as you have fluid and have blead the system it is an internal bypassing of the master itself.unless you didn't blead the the lines at the master i would replace the master with a new oem one and the problem will go away i gurantee it.

So but doesnt it seem weird that everything was fine and then i installed the clutch and the brakes went to ****?? i mean the only we could have done that would have caused a problm was when the car was on jack stands and we held the brakes down hard just to break the axle nutz free.. so basiclly i should replace the brake booster and see if its ok or just try another master cylinder? the one we put on today was brand new... and i did bench bleed it.. even tho i cant 100 percent garuntee that it was free of air.. perhaps a vacuum bleed? ive never done it how does it work what do i need lol?

A friend had his brake pedal sinking to the floor as well. He replaced the master cylinder and he was good to go.
