I have the same setup right now.....GS-R Tranny mated to a JDM B20B and running to a P75 (LS ECU). It is pretty short but I think it is a much better setup then using a LS tranny. If i didn't have it i wouldn't be able to pull on GS-R's and Si's. So the tranny does help, it is short but it brings out the engine's power better. I ran only mid 14's, however my clutch was slipping down the track and I was on stock 13 inch VX wheels, stock piping and muffler too ...Hey now, I just got the car back and haven't been able to finish it yet. Think I can pull high 13's and a 14 flat if i fix everything? I have on order (should be here soon but not soon enough) Carsound 2.5 inch in/out highflow cat and Magnaflow 2.5 inch in/out SS oval Muffler, and a brand new set of OEM tegra LS Wires/Plugs From the Acura Dealer.

Needing Clutchmaster clutch (Stage 3), ITR AEM CAI, Performance Brake Pads & Rotors (Stock VX Hatch brakes won't stop ), New Tire/Wheel Combo (Stock VX Wheels Won't Hook Up )

In Time In Time

I don't know about the high 13's but for sure 14.1-14.2
I also have a B20Z with 404's but it's not installed yet, Waiting for the valve springs. I won't have the gsr tranny for now but i did start to look for one. Would be a good bang for the buck for me.

The B20 goes in a 1992 Integra RS. Right now i'm running 15.4 @ 88-90mph with a cold air intake, cat back exhaust and full interior.

Any idea of what i'll be running with the new set up....completly stripped?

I dont understand how the GSR gearing is benifitial.. as you shift through gears the RPM's drop to 4.5 or even 5 and if ur running a b20b according to all the dynos I've seen the peak output is at 6.. so wat I'm saying is ur only in gear for about 1000 rpm's not nearly enough time to build speed... some please set me straight..

second question.. I'm using a 96 auto ls ecu.. does tht matter??
if so i can use my dx ecu but the motor stalls.. anyone knows wats going on.. (i'm using a gsr wiring harness, dont ask why.. but i am..)

shorter gearing is one benefit - providing you get traction, the other is of course closer ratios. Keeps the needle up as high as possible in the band after shifts. Doesn't matter if the peak it at 6k, shift right at redline, providing the power hasn't dropped off too much (more noticable in higher gearing). Even if the power has dropped off some after 6k, its still putting more power to the ground than a sweeter rpm spot in a higher gear.

Is that what you meant mister?

Its not my setup its a friend of mines.

Ghetto CAI
JDM DC headers wrapped without a cat or exhaust
B&M FPR
LS ECU

This is on a stripped down 92 VX and the guy weights around 130lb.....

3k at 80mph? you should be at 4k at 80mph with a gsr tranny.

I ran one wtih my LS motor... it was great but NO traction (turbo).

When I did run that setup, I could either tie or beat my friend's B18C hatch (same year/model hatch, both of us just had intake & exhaust only). He ran consistent 14.4 times at the track on street tires so I'd suspect my car to run low 14s on street tires at the track <-- this was with 98 JDM B20B, 99 GSR tranny, and 95 XS-chipped LS ECU.

Oh yeah... on the freeway, going uphill, we were tied in 4th gear (he was in VTEC, I obviously wasn't) but as soon as we hit 5th, he passed me with ease (he was still in VTEC)
