so i started my yesterday and for about 5 minutes the battery was on, my gauges seemed noticeably dimmer than usual, floored it getting on the highway and the light shut off and gauges became normal. drove it for about 15 minutes today and the light was on the whole time. is it the alternator? how hard would it be to do it myself?

 

if its the alternator its pretty easy to change out. there is only like two bolts holding it in but i think autozone can check the alternator for free so i would do that first just to make sure

 

if its not the alternator what else cld it be? school starts monday and i dont need this annoyance to plague me for weeks

take your alternator off. get it tested. have them tell you its bad, then change the alternator and the battery, simple..

really thats the only thing that will make your battery light go off is a bad alt. it means your battery is not holding/recharging it self and its getting low. chances are if your lights and everything dimmed out like that they are both on the verge of shitting on you, they go hand in hand.
