rear disc conversion on my del sol
Hey everyone, I was wondering what i would exactly need to do a rear disc conversion on my del sol. Will any rear disc conversion work like gsr or si and i just need the right e brake cables? Please help!
You can use any 92-00 Civic brakes or 90-01 Integra brakes. As far as e-brake cables, I am not familiar with the Del Sol but I am sure you can use other cables.

You need a 40/40 prop valve for a rear disc conversion. Use one from a 94-01 RS Integra. They are non-ABS, and will bolt right up.
The reason you want to change the proportioning valve is simple. Drum brakes require much more hydraulic pressure than disc brakes. Honda engineers change the proportioning valve bias to compensate, and make braking equal. If you do not swap the valve when you do the conversion, then the rears will have more hydraulic pressure than the fronts.
Many will say that they never noticed a difference, and didn't swap the valve. Under normal driving conditions, this may be true. However, when you need your brakes to perform isn't under normal conditions. The truth is that the rears will lock up much faster under extreme braking. It's a safety issue. It's a performance issue. It's something that can be completely avoided by installing a 40/40 proportioning valve.
