anyone know any universal ecu's for 06 civic si?
yea i know that hondata isnt making a k-pro for our car,or maybe they are but its been way too long and they wouldve had made it already if they were going to make it. so i was just wondering if there was any good universal ecu's for the 06 civic SI's that can tune everything on the car?

UH NO, the SI si teh first to use the Speedo and not a tach so any other ECU cant and wont work on the NEwer SI's. Which is why you cant run a RSX ECU because of the Speedo.
Your not getting Kpro at the moment so just stop trying K thanks Bye.

So what's all this crap I heard about Hondata supposedly purchasing two Sis for research and development on a K-pro-like management unit.

Please dont say anything about piggy backs because im talking about a proper tune.
Just wait for a while, you guys expect to much for a car thats been out for 4 years.
THe mazdaspeeds have the same prob since they have been out for the same amount of time. No good tuning solutions besides piggy backs.

I said "K-PRO" not the new Tuning Option that Hondata is supposedly working on. Everyone wants KPRO for their SI when KPRO is not an option for the SI. Everyone is dying to get their SI tuned but the reality is you just have to realize there is no tuning for this car at the moment.

You don't need a UNIVERSAL ECU to obtain results. You can run a dual ECU set up with the 2nd ECU being a RSX-S Kpro ECU, or rewire your car for to 2002-2004 RSX-S wiring schematic.
If you are patient and willing to wait Hondata is developing a device, much like the format in which domestic car tuners use to reflash the ECU. The bugs are being worked out and of course they are trying to make it proprietary.
That couldn't be further from the truth. Whether you want to consider a piggyback, dual ECU set up or a complete rewire reversion there are PLENTY of tuning solutions.
Then perhaps you need to revise your comments to say "no plug and play stand alone" because thats what you mean. Piggy back or not it's a solution.
Too bad the general public has perpetuated erroneous info about piggy backs because they can do A LOT of good and unless users are willing to think outside the box it's all they have.
Too bad all people do is fugging whine about the absence of K pro. I say stop fugging whining and do something about, if not go home and STFU.

Thats funny
I didnt direct it towards you Rico. I know you know everything there is to know about the SI. SO when you Chimed in I was quite shocked you didnt get what I said. The OP asked for UNIVERSAL ECU and the reason he asked was because he wants K-PRO. Now, there is no K-PRO for the 06+ regardless if its being made or made since at this point its a speculation.

I can get smileys too
The OP was asking for a universal ECU not how to run K-PRO. I just assumed it was for K-PRO.
IM done with this thread

To Rico, I dont know about the bunny thing, I thought it was funny since it was new.

I know the difference between piggy backs and a proper tuning solution. That's why I never mentioned it to the OP....I just want to know the status of the new unit Hondata is supposed to be developing for our cars....or even if there IS a status. Not in any rush though. I'd rather them take another year if they have to and get it perfect than to have to de-commission my car to have a faulty unit sent back.

hondata has a reflash. i dont think its a real tune but itll give you decent horsepower plus whatever you have on it. i think its rated at like 10-15 hp + whatever else you have done to it. should be enough for the time being.
No doubt one is in the works but there's no urgency to get one completed anytime soon.
Hondata has no incentives to allocate additional resources into developing a stand alone tuning solution for the K20z3 because people are still buying the reflash. I'm a firm believer that until we, the consumer, move past the reflash, only then will Hondata change its priorities and maybe then we'll get one.

Since Hondata doesn't make information public many who read this will shrug it off as hearsay but info does trickle down the grapevine thru their established dealers and I have full confidence in the person whom I spoke with.
yup! what he said.. people around here (baltimore) have found a way to use KPRO on an si. I do not know the details or how. rewire chop and connect? one is running 13.1 in the 1/4 the car looks stock under the hood with a factory air box and no spray. they will give no details on the rewire Kpro thing for the 06+ si, they dont want people to know there secret. AEM FIC is an option that has work for some guys I see from time to time. just my 2 cent.
