I am asking this to see what your own results were. I raced my friend with a 01 type r last week. His car only has a muffler and I have an AEM CAI.

We line it up and I got the launch. I lead about a half car until his Vtec kicks in and he starts to pull ever so slowly on me. It stayed this way all the way until the top of third. By then he was leading by about 1/2 to 3/4 car length.

I have driven his car before and Vtec pulls sooooo much stronger than the type-S. What's up with that??? stock vs. stock, the type r is a whole different beast.

I also know that my car will get a little faster once I add some more miles and completely break the engine in (approx. 5-10k miles). I am now at 3k miles and notice the car is stronger than at 1k.

i guess i'm on the other side of the world, but with the same results...i've beat two rsx's (type S) ...first i got him off the launch ....beat him easy...the second one he got me off the launch, but surely enough i ended up ahead

 

The one RSX I ran was a pretty easy kill for me in my Type R. Then he tried to follow in the twisties. Silly stunna driva

 

Well I have raced 2 R's. One was my brothers, and the other was some guy on the street.

When I ran the Black type R on the street I had just killed his cusion in his black type S. We lined up at the light and I awaited the light to turn green. As I saw the side light turn yellow I looked at the black R and noticed he was creeping away already..WTF??? the race wasnt even on yet and he was taking off. Before I could react he took off and I dumped the clutch.. Well to my damn bad luck I spun the wheels and then the bumps in the intersection gave me huge problems as well. After all this I caught up fast. I was at the back of his bumper and he was not gaining or losing any ground. After all the mistaked I got I think me at his back bumper was pretty good. He had i/h/e and a vtec controller. I only had intake.. Now I got an exhaust and im going to race him again, but this time we leave at the same time..

The second R was my brothers. Well all I can say is that he has one of the faster R's here in Az. He has the basic set up but with a vtec controller. His top end is killer. We raced from a 60 mph roll while I was racing a new maxima. I killed the maxima bad, 3-4 cars but the whole time my brother was right next to me, then me and him went at it.. Well I was ahead then the walking began. I was doing 130 and he just pulled away pretty easy.. I had only intake at the time, but he has a fast R. My brother also raced that same black type R and beat him very bad, by 3 cars before then shut down.. So in both cases the R is a fast car, but Im going to challenge them both when I tune my car more. Hehhe.. these kind of races make you want to mod your car more to compete. Well good luck..

 

Test driven the RSX-S a couple of times.... I think I'll stick with my ITR... but that car does have potential... let's just give it some time....

 

my brother raced an ITR in my S first time he raced my bro won bt a fender the second it was soo close they couldent tell...
i only have an AEM SRI and so did he

its a close race, but with a fairly seasoned driver....the R will prevail

 

Should be even too 3rd gear......... just like you said
