they both ...will... work but the h22 rad is thicker. better cooling but a bit more expensive. alt will work but the pulleys are different. the h22 is a 6rib belt and the h23 is a 5rib belt.. you can switch the alt pulley or the crank pulley. im sure you can figure out which is easier...
hope this helps

The rad might be cheaper if you buy an aftermarket one. Alternator could be cheapest if rebuilt or wrecker. Any non-vtec prelude from 92-95 should work without issue. I'm sure some accord alternators will work too. Just compair part numbers or call the dealership and ask what alternators are interchangeable (they might not know being they are mostly morons)

well I work at honda....did all the lookup of part numbers and in.honda.com but all the part numbers are different....the alternator is not h22 for the S base prelude its a f22...i know its a different belt and such....my main question is could a the alternator and radiator from a Si prelude that is automatic be interchangeable with with the base S prelude....

Yes it will. I have an h23 alternator and radiator in my 95. Just swapped an H22 into it last February. Still running perfectly fine. If you have an H22, H23, or F22 the alternator and radiator will work as long as you use the correct belt. My alternator belt only rides 5 out of the 6 ribs on the Crank pulley. One thing though, if the radiator is used, make sure there isn't any tranny fluid in the radiator if it was in an automatic. Any other questions feel free to ask.

hmmm sounds familiar... did someone say something like that already?
right...
and as for the tranny fluid in the rad... theres a seperate tank at the bottom of the rad. two hard lines run between the rad and tranny to act as a cooler for the fluid. they keep seperate but are still in the same unit

the only difference is one is an auto and one is a manual. most will have provisions for either setup so you should be fine.

so throwing in a alternator from a h23 auto into the base model S f22 with a standard tranny would suffice and I will need to use the pulley from the standard alternator on the h23 alternator? just wanna make sure I get this straight
