Default Trunk filled with water... Fixed that now turnsignal issue...

Hey everyone, I recently had a issue with my car filling up with water- I believe I have that resolved (I silicon caulked the talight seals)-

Now I am running into another issue-
I drove the car to class and noticed my turn signals were not working. By not working I mean not even showing up on the dash. Hmm simple fix- I checked fuses, and it was a fuse, so i swapped it out.

Test the left turn signal, it works fine. Test the right, and it cuts off and pops the fuse again.

I tried different bulbs, but not am at a loss of what to do-

Things I think it could be:
1) Combination Switch
2) water got into socket and shorted it out?
3) Short in wiring somewhere (tomorrow afternoon after class I will be testing that)

Is this a common issue? I couldnt get the search to work properly-

Thanks!

Almost the same deal happened with mine. The tail light foam breaks down over time and may let water in. And since only the running light in the rear has an o-ring the other sockets can let that moisture in and corrosion will form over time.

Try a little 00 or 0000 steel wool to clean up the metal, make sure the light is dry inside, and install with a new foam piece.

FWIW, when mine was filling with water it was because the trunk seal had gone bad.

i pulled out the tail lights and sealed them. ther is no real need to pull the head liner unless you replce the piping. the problem i had is that it leaks were the piping exits the trunk on eather sids.

to fix the piping my trunk is alredy guted. if yours is not then you have to remove the panels to acess the piping and it will be right be hind your wheel well on eather side. so i blew out the piping with some comprsed air to see if it was cloged. then used this seal all stuff i picked up at wallmart. its a paste that comes in a tube dont smell to good lol. i sealed were it exited the trunk and it seams to have worked. i havent had i leak sence.

I kinda have this same problem with my 94 integra sedan. I have water in my trunk and my back seats are wet, lol so ppl get there butts wet when they sit back there... The tail lights could be the culprite to the leaking?
