If it's USDM
If it is a DX,LX,SE or Value pack
Federal Emissions
Automatic Transmission:

37820-PO1-L61 (original number)

I'm not sure if Canadian Honda's are USDM or EDM

M/T One?

I'm gonna use a 96-97 ECU in my 98 so I can get rid of the Immobilizer and so I don't have to convert to OBD1. Gonna have to chip it later for VTEC.

I just need to know which one it is, so I can run it.

Useless, I would just get a P28 and run a F23 map.

Wait, you're OBDII - how do you plan on chipping it?

Best bet is downconvert to OBDI and run the P28 then do whatever you want mapping wise.

The 96/97 EX M/T was a P0A I just sold one.

yes but assuming you are a EX, and not a LX with swapped V-Tec, your part number should be something like this for manual, and this for auto, because google works too mate

Watch your language man, noticed you cussing on all the threads. People been banned for less on HT.

Why not just pull your ECU and check? Its a lot faster than guessing online.

Alternatively go on any honda parts site and put in your VIN number and it should bring up the specific ECU for your vehicle.

yea I don’t mind my language at all

but I do apologize if anyone is offended or hurt by it, I forget how some people are not as dry humored as I am

but I did mention I was going to rip it out look at it

and not many sites provide great data on ecu information

So there is that

I dont mind the language at all, just telling you how it goes with forums vs things like fb groups etc. Over here is a bit more formal.

Re searching for your ecu using your vin, have you plugged in your vin on https://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ or https://www.bernardiparts.com/

they should break it down by parts category and schematic etc

sweet I’ll give that a try I appreciate it

but yea I didn’t mean acting bad by it

I’ve been reading some of the post from 10 years+ ago and see some banned individuals lol

Future project is getting a junk or 2 ecu and trying to chip them for some plug and play

but my next problem learning how to burnout

I’ve been watching some vids but I tried it last nice dumping the clutch at a stop sign and it felt like the whole car banged like the trac control is on but there is no button for it

97 exr is what I have

felt like the tranni grabbed and jerked hard which makes sense

I’m trying to run it into the ground before I rebuild it
