it means like it says, the company has decided not to make a certain product any more, it could be for various reasons..such as...
No demand for it anymore
Newer better one devloped/produced
It was total rice and theyre soooo embarressed they ever sold it that took it off the market!
Production costs were too high and not a big enough market to warrant it.
they may not have been able to get a DOT approval for it.
It may have infringed copyright laws
blah
blah
blah...

 

Anything in particular.

For instance, performance parts for my 86 and 87 CRXs are/have been hard to come by!

MC brace only works on RHD cars too. The spoon clusters aren't exactly a NEEDED item anymore so they stopped making them.
