A cobra came by me last night and asked to race. I've never raced a cobra so I was hesitant but agreed. Well, I got my *** kicked. It looked like about 7 car lentgths and he decided to do an over kill and punched it from there and left me in the dust.....I was humbled and now I'm crious. should a h22a 4 gen be able to beat a Cobra stock?.....or better yet...should I have one this littel run? I don't know if he was stock or not but he got me at the start off. I then started to fall behind somewhere in 3rd gear.

looked like maybe a 00-01. It had the newest body style.

 

those run high 13's stock. a 4th gen prelude runs mid 15's. so that's about right.

 

just checking. I haven't done a GT and b4 I get embarassed has anyone running stock done it?

 

I haven't had the pleasure yet of kicking a Cobra's ****. But soon, maybe soon.

 

I've smoked everyone I've raced. The last guy I smoked like a phattie was pounding on his steering wheel and had a temper tamtrum when we stopped at the next light. "WTF do you have under the hood?", I thought he was going to cry.

 

Run an auto V6 Mustang... holy **** those things are dogs.

Cobra will annilate you any day of the week. Don't even try.

 

I kind of done a Mustang GT before. I was driving along and I see a GT so I start to drive kind of aggressive. Well I got to a red light, and I see the GT rolling up the light turns green, I gun it at a dead stop, she yep she guns it on a rolling start, she had me by about 2-3 cars, I say a prelude with mods would be a pretty close race, but I'll never know cus I'm not street racing anymore.

 

 

A stock 4th gen will lose to a 00-01 GT everyday as well. THe Cobra would be a massacre. The 03 Cobra has 390hp!!!

yea i heard that ****** runs 12 flat on the quarter mile! thats pretty impressive for a shitty ford. ive raced plenty of the 01 GT's and smoked their asses, i have yet to find a cobra on the road but when i do ill post it in the kills forum

 

I raced a stock one with my nitrous in the 1/8 and we were pretty damn close. He said he was running like crap and I only did a 9.2 ah well.

 

Oh yeah, try racing an 03' Cobra
then you can talk about getting smoked.

ok, 10 steps to beating a Cobra in a Prelude:
1. Buy a nitrous kit
2. hook it up
3. put the biggest jet in
4. line up with Cobra
5. swerve into his lane causing him to put on his brakes
6. spray the nitrous
7. toast his ***!!!
8. pull engine out and rebuild it (b/c you just fryed that bitch)
9. bolt on a turbo and put it back in
10. race him again, but this time don't cheat


ok, actually with a 75 shot N20 (NOS, NX, ZEX etc) it is actually a much closer race that you would think, i have a friend with a 96 Cobra that is damn fast ( I/H/E, pulleys, advanced timing, etc) i race him in my 97 with a ZEX 75 shot. we raced of the line and he pulled me pretty good, but then we raced from a rolling start at about 20mph, and we were pretty much side by side up to about 110-120 (we let off), yes, he was pulling on me some, but it was a good race. but i still got own3d. i can't wait till i get my engine back in my Prelude, b/c then he will be the one getting own3d, but until then

Cobra - 5 or 6, i don't even remmber i've lost so many times
Prelude - 1 (some bumbass stalled it )

 

Well, its good to know I'm not the only one that got ripped a new one. it would've sucked even more if I had raced with with my old engine (f22 sohc).....that would've been slaughter for me. Well, now that I've been beat....it has rekindled a new fire to start building up the car. This fall has new plans...hehe.
