squeaks over bumps?
i have a few blown ball joints for my 96 honda accord. could this be the problem? i believe my shocks are gone too by looking at the oil that seeps out by the shaft of the shocks.
my dad took it to his friends house and was told that the noise would go away by replacing the shocks.
so my question is, could it be the shocks that is causing the squeaky noises or the ball joints?

I'd also have the sway bar bushings checked as well
P
well its confirmed that only my right side squeaks when i push the front end down.
oh and i believed it started this summer.
what should i do with the sway bar bushings? is there a lube i have to apply or something?

If it does, they will require replacement

The way you talk about having "a few blown ball joints" makes me nervous. Check out the ball joints, and soon. If one fails completely it can ruin your whole day.
Struts are important too, but I would first be concerned about the ball joints. If your budget permits buying struts and ball joints at the same time it will save you and your dad some work as compared to doing them separately.
Sway bar bushings are easy to replace if they are worn, as they most likely are.

I'm going with ball joints. Before I replaced my passenger front lower ball joint, my car did the same thing. Squeaked when I went over bumps. Like the post said above, I would also recommend doing the shocks and the ball joints at the same time.

will the shocks sold over at kragens or autozone do the trick? anyone here had problems with their oem shocks? i think they run about $50 per shock/strut.

OEM Honda will be more than satisfactory for a daily driver, and they're superior to such manufacturers as Gabriel or Monroe. I've 224k on the originals on my SE and still going strong.
KYB makes a good series of replacement shocks. You might consider them.

i wouldn't send your mother-in-law to autozone, let alone buy parts from them.

And how much do the Honda OEM shocks run for?
For Honda's I use KYB's
The GR-2 series for Daily Drivers sell for about (259.00/set)(about 69.00/each)
The AGX series for Twisty Drivers sell for about (474.00/set)(about 115.00/each)
If U searched, U could find them cheaper
The Honda OEM's wholesale at 86.00/each Front / 89.00/each Rear
I gave up on them in the mid 80's when i was pinched between lousy support on the jobber level and I had a run of warranty claims (8 customers in 5 months) where i lost money on that trash. I had better luck with Delco.
