so i get to work this morning @the usual time and park my civic hatch . i start my daily rutine and my boss comes in with this look on his face like somthing is horribly wrong!. then he says to me what happen to your ride? at first i thought dude dont "f " with me! then he says im serious what happen? you need to go outside! and when i open the door and see my ride, well you can only imagine the choice words i used. turns out some a hole trucker turned the corner to soon and rear ended my ef. blew out my window jaked my hatch,taillight,buckled my rear left quater pannel. but wait thats not the f---ed up part it was a hit and run. no note or anything! so i call my insurance company and file a claim. wait for it! now they basicly say that my car is not worth fixin, cuz the cost of repairs exceeds the worth of the car. Never mind that its an 88 and has a 91 si swap, dc headers ,si trany with a 7lb .flywheel stage 1 exceedy clutch,tower bar, sway bars skunk2 coil overs, drilled spindels,99 si wheels, si gauges,teg seats,stereo and amp, and an alarm. now i having to prove all that ive done with pics that i have of this build and dispute the claim they want to put this on salvage title and give me chump change for my ridewitch i bought from the original owner in cherry condition.

 

ouch man!! sorry to hear for sure... but depending on the money they want to give you for it if they do total it, you can always buy it back from the insurrance company for a fraction of what they give you and get all your parts. when I totaled my ek, they gave me $5500 for it (i know, thats ALOT lol) and i bought the car back from them for $750. so hopefully worst comes to worst you can do somthing along those lines. Either way, the best of luck to ya man!

Edit: quarters are crinkled too huh? they hit it hard..

 

the rear filler piece is damaged and the whole quarter panel is buckeled.... pretty much the best u can do is get some money fron the ins. company buy it back and get another shell and start swapping.

its an old *** honda what do you expect your insurance company to say? and the body work it will cost to fix it is worth more than the KBB value of your car.
like stated buy another shell and start swapping maybe something else like an EK or EG shell.

 

how do you kow it was a trucker? Ill keep an eye out if you have a discription..

 

yah i do have fool coverage and the f---ers only ofering $ 900. - the $500 deductable do the the math im f--ked

 

the trucker left tire marks on side walk when he cut it short, 2 tires side by side barely missing the stop sign

 

buy it back, that is very fixable.
not worth the hassle of starting over.
and get a new insurance company.

let a **** hit my car, let me tell you about some as beatin that'd go down. lol. sorry to hear/ see that happen dude. but it doesn't look demolished. new hatch, light, and a body shop or a good 2x4 to pull the dent out of the quarter panel and you'd be set. insurance companies blow cack, i hate them too. looks like its time to hit the market place huh?

 

look if theres any frame damage and if so it could me fixed thats worst case but other than that fix the hatchie belive me times are tough now and body shops will do miracles for little money just gotta shop around!!!
