Here, in bakersfield, california, the police are pulling everyone over in a slightly modified import. Even license plates that have skunk2 on them count. People are getting their hoods popped and getting sent to the smog ref for carb legal intakes. Yes they have their stickers too. They are killin us down here. Have any suggestions! I have my car parked most of the day now. I have to drive the cherokee around now and it kind of pisses my wife off. I never should have lowered my car. Damn!!!

A chp does not have the right to pop your hood with out probable cause if they say they pulled you over for a moded exhaust all they can do is cite you for that. They can not pop your hood unless you were racing or something of that nature you have the right to refuse the poping of the hood and all you have to say is it is a unlawful surch and they usualy back off. IF they got you go to the court and fight it best thing you can do is drive around and take a vid camera and tape them when they come to the window that way you have proof of therer harassment for the courts. THEN SUE

 

learn the law and fv<k with the cop back, just make sure you are in a well light area or there are people around .

my son will soon be an oakland cop..if i ever find out he s pulling that kinda **** im going do a *slap jack on his head*..in the most part i think most cops are cool..if not they ll end up getting their tires slash d and mess of other **** done to them since most of them live in town ..at one time i had 4 cops living on my street and a CHP

And FYI, Harassment is continual and repeated threats/bothering. So because a cop may pick on you one day, doesn't mean you were harassed.

Stop crying because of all the consequences of your actions now. If you really feel you have been wronged, contact your mayor, city representatives or your local news stations, or even a class action lawyer.

Crying to us only makes you look like a baby.

imagine a website like that..its just saying *im racing tonite, come get me*..WTF those rice babies expect?..the cops could be sued for not following up on public info. announcing illegal activity in their turf..hell, if i was hit by a racer in bakerfield , id sue the racer as well as the cops for not stopping it

maybe they just got the JDM concept? You know speed before cosmetics. They may have been tipped off that all the imports that look stock may be holding 200+ hp engines under their hood. Who knows. Maybe they just dont like imports

 

I would research your laws and contact a lawyer. Here in Texas they can NOT make you pop your hood without probable cause and if they do and they find anything it is thrown out anyway cause of illegal search and seizure. Just read up and if needed, contact a lawyer.

Very true. When I had my red CRX, I used to get pulled over so much, for the stupidest stuff. When I put my hatch together, I did it right, went to the ref, smogged/certified my motor, and when I get pulled over, I point to the sticker, and they back off. I had to learn the hard way, oh well.
