Well I have a crx dx which I bought with a custom moon roof installed which leaks, so I was wondering what kind of metal I'd used on the body of a car, where can I buy some, and can I just weld a sheet of metal in place of that moon roof? Thanks in advance

 

Id try to fix the leak first... welding a piece of sheet metal over a giant hole in the roof would probably end up looking pretty half assed unless you had a body shop do it.

 

You could try to source a roof skin at the salvage yard.

 

Weld a new roof skin in place. They are available from Honda. I made the mistake one time of welding a patch panel in and it looked like *** when finished.

 

+1 for just putting a new roof skin on. Pretty easy compared to trying to make a sunroof hole look right after welding it.

 

i feel like a huge noob here, but do i cut out a piece of roof skin? if so with what? or do i just buy an assembly of something or how does this work? i dont plan on welding myself i'll take it somewhere but i wanna make sure i'm getting the right material...and the honda dealership will be my last resort since the pricing is usually a tad too high for my likings
