Default Headers?

question ~ i have a 97 accord and i just bought new headers. is there any thing i should do before i go ahead and change these? any suggestions. warm or cool engine? PB Blaster? thanks

Make sure you use lock washers, bolts'/studs that aren't too long and a good quality gasket.
Also be ready to revisit it several times within the next few weeks to retorque the mounting bolts. The heating/cooling cycles will loosen them initially.

maybe think about getting new bolts to use and not the same ones. while retourqing mine a few weeks later i twisted the head off the bolt. now i dont know how ill ever get the header off....

thats what im worried about taking them off. but i have new bolts. you may have to drill out the bolt and re thread it somehow.

you only have ONE header (singular) not headers (plural)..not to be mean
to your ? pb blaster should work let it sit for a while . and use a breaker bar to break them loose

If you're nervous about that, you might try upgrading to stainless fasteners (metric of course) and using some hi temp anti-sieze compound.

obviously. there is more then one bolt. mainly what i was talking about
