Main relay bad on cold starts also?
I had an issue when I start my car in the morning or after sitting awhile it will start for a split second and then die.
It will usually start right up after failing the first time.
It's happened when the engine was at op temp but it's happened way more consistently on a cold start.
I've had my main relay go out before 3 years ago and it was the classic symptoms so I'm really doubting that it's the main relay.
I was thinking maybe the ignition module but I don't know the symptoms of that.

I can't cause I never know when it's going to do it.
I'd have to wait until it become constant.
I was doing some reading about the main relay and the click that it makes.
This morning I didn't hear the click so I back off the ignition and tried again and heard the click so I turned it over and it started up fine.
The rest of the day it worked fine.

Next time you go to start it cold, take a moment / turn off the radio / turn the key to the 'run' position and see if you can hear the fuel pump cycle.
There are several possibilities here:
1) Main Relay or
2) Ignition Switch (electrical portion)
3) Ignition Ignitor (module)*
Let me know what you find
P
* involved in a recall for the '90 model year. And although they failed such that the engine wouldn't start, I've seen some do strange things cold.
Have you been plagued with phantom stalls, or it just quiting for no apparent reason?

It's never stalled during general use. The only time I would say that it's "stalled" is when I go to start it and it will die instantly right after catching only to start right up after that.I had a 92 S-10 blazer that had a bad ignition in the distributor and it would cut out even while driving. Didn't matter when it would just cut in and out.My honda's never displayed that kind of issue, it's just on starts.
