Default 96 obd2a-obd1... help?

So I have 96 prelude as stated above... recently i swapped in a 97 non sh H22a4 tranny and all car starts and runs fine on my H23 obd2a ecu i have but i'm wanting to convert my car to obd1 and buy a ECU from pherable.net to replace my current ecu when talking to peter at rywire he said that as long as i have my ecu conversion from OBD2a-OBD1 along with that obd1 ecu i should be good no problems.... My question is i thought as a rule of thumb when your converting your ecu from obd?-obd? you needed to convert the dizzy as well to be the same as the ecu your going to, true or false? Will this work just using the conversion harness and the ecu?

The distributor can stay the same, just run the obd1 ECU and conversion harness.
