Default TSB for Transmission

was the TSB only for the 3rd gear specifically? my 2nd gear is notchy as hell sometimes at normal driving RPM's. I'll be shifting at anywhere from 2-4k RPM's into 2nd gear and i'll have to almost fight it in. when i'm sitting at a standstill and I shift into 2nd, it'll have a notch that gears 1,3, and 4 don't have. Do you think I can get this fixed under warranty? It's an 06 with 29k miles. I don't have any problems with my 3rd gear or any other gear though.

oh yeah, i changed my MTF 4000 miles ago to Honda's new MTF and it hasn't done anything to make it better. the notchyness is intermittent. sometimes it'll be perfectly fine, but sometimes it'll be absolutely terrible even when my car is fully warmed up and i've been driving for 20 minutes.

CAN I GET THIS ON MY EP3?

Please say yes. If I shift below 3K it blows.

Is the problem only with the rsx's or is it with the ep3's as well? I read the tsb last night on club rsx and it doesn't look like the civic si (2002-03) was involved. Please tell me if it was - I'm considering buying a 02-03 rsx or si, either will be manual trans. I was starting to stray away from the rsx because of the 2nd and 3rd gear problems, but now I'm curious if it's the si's as well. These cars are basically the same price, so I'd like to go for the Acura if possible, but now I'm being pushed away by the tsb.

it's not that bad. Dealerships are being really good about it too. Mine doesn't grind nor pop and neither does my buddies RSX

Thanks for the input. What year is your car? Is it a type S or base model? How many miles? I just want to know which models and which years were affected by this grinding/popping problem.

So was it the civic si's as well, or just the rsx's?

Both the civic and rsx is affected by this. Some people reported problems with 2nd and others with 3rd. Some even say they dont have a problem. I do from time to time with my third but when i changed t/f with royal purple, it helped me out quite a bit. Even if you get this fixed its going to happen again down the road.
