Default River flowing out my muffler?

JOY~I've destroyed my engine

I replaced my timing belt and I just KNOW I have the timing correct

Now I found a leak coming form under the thermostat(drips every 10 sec.) When the car is on and I tap on the gas

Now I look behind the muffler and yeehaw mega drops of water all over the place?

question: Is the water pump suppose to be aligned for TDC like the crank and oil? WHY is there water coming out my exhaust?

Can't help you with the water in exhaust part but, No, the water pump does not have to be aligned with anything when adjusting timing.

drops of water from exhaust is normal...just condensation/moisture, etc. As long as it's not spraying like a hose

Even new cars from the factory would leave trails of water in my stall at times.

Replace the t-stat with a new gasket and you should be fine.

And no, there are no marks for water pump...doesn't matter

NO this is not normal condensation. This is a real problem. I tried again and when its idle I dont see any but when I press on the gas it comes out too much as clear low viscocity liquid with suit chunks and dark black color also. (basically black water~but could fill up a cup in no time)

One reason I may be experiencing this is because I forgot my screwdriver in the flywheel sight hole and it was tight against the flywheel so I could loosen the crank pulley. WELL I forgot and started the car..it must have moved because the car did start.

ugh why would a lot of water be coming out of the exhaust after this process?

Dude, water is a byproduct of the combustion process. If you dont have water in your oil or oil in your water I wouldnt worry about it. Did you get the screwdriver back or is it lost in the flywheel, LOL.

If there was that much water in the combustion chamber it would be skipping all over the place and if a **** load of water was in there, it would of locked up already and bent all your rods

Bump. did you catch any fish? jk. is it really like flowing out the exhaust or dripping? My bros 09 Scion tC has a steady flow of water dripping out, its no problem.

ya screw driver is out
and no fish to be found

I do know my car did not create any water that Im aware of before I screwd with the car.

but since I noticed the leaking near the thermostat I also noticed black water all over the floor from exhaust. It leaks through an unwelded coupling in my exhaust

I Will just have to post a pic! Is it really that impossible for MEGA water to be coming out the exhaust and the car still runs fine.

I may post a pic of the puddle tomorrow. or in a cup.

It isn't hosing me down out of the muffler like it was the first time.

conclusion : possible condensation
also the coolant at the thermostat is coming out quite green(very concentrated DOH) ..But the water coming from the exhaust has no green color at all. hmm

But still Hard to believe that this little engine would produce this many drops of black water. specially since it didnt do it before I messed with the car. I will take it for a spin tomorrow. thanks guys

Just a thought too... was the car sitting outside while you were working on it? As others have said, it could have built up quite a bit of condensation. Mine collects in the mufflers of my zcar, even in the garage, when I haven't driven it in a while.

Ya I'm fairly confident it is just condensation from the difference in temperatures. I filmed it and put in on youtube just for giggles. Tell me what you think..Its the first start of the day so I would expect a bit of water..55 degree

If thats no good go to youtube search ~ butter999999 ~ its on top

The red light is the brake light. umm hot lol its 55F outside and the exhaust does get warm. I recently broke the 2 studs to fasten the valve cover down so oil comes out on occasion. I duno bout the headgasket ..pretty sure thats not an issue.

I cant tell if that is smoke or if that is just exhaust on a cool day, agreed that does look like alot of water to just be condensation....do a block test or a leak down test

exhaust smells like normal combustion
no smoke-just vapor

I took it for a spin to the gas station and the start up hesitation is gone now. I was out of fuel.

But the check engine #12 came on for EGR/lift sensor and the car stalls immedietly after I start it when warm. And cold start up will idle from 2k-800k and eventually die.

Why don't you replace your thermostat if its leaking?

Do a compression test, post the results.

That looks like coolant coming out, is it coolant?

This sounds/looks like a head gasket problem.
