I've heard on these lean-burn cars, there is a red led below the instruments (which is true..).. how come it never turns on?
What specifications must the car be running under for lean-burn to activate?

You must have a VX or an HX. I don't know for sure but have been told lean-burn mode happens while cruising at a constant speed/load and not under accel/deccel.

Yep it's an hx.. but that deffinently explains it. I will have to monitor it while I'm just cruising on the highway next time.
Do you know how long you have to be cruising for it to come on?

I've read there is a stock LED that shows when it's engaged, and there is a very stock-looking red led on the left hand side...
How would a light make you stay in it as long as possible?

Of all the VX's and HX's I have driven/services, I have never seen such a light. Honda didn't use any LED's back then anyways.
How would it help keep you in lean burn mode? Because you will know when you fall out of it, and adjust throttle to stay in...
