Default ZC block w/D157 head??

hi everyone,
i got a question to ask the community here at HT.
well here's my problem atm. im tryin to sell my 91 EF hatchback, so i took it in to get it smogd, but it failed for nox, so i got a new O2 and cat, after welding the cat on, i noticed that there's smoke coming out the coolent reservior.
got it tested and its a head gasket.
so here's my problem, i got a ZC motor in it atm, but the head's been mil .010 over from the last head gasket job. but i got a D15B7 head thats stock.
i know most D series will fit, but i cant find out where i read in HT that i might need to change the cam gear over to the D15B7 head to get timing right? or did i read wrong?
and lastly what head gasket do i need for this set up?? or should i just stick with the zc head thats on it. with it mil .010 over compression is a bit higher. so im afraid of using the zc head, thats y i want to use the D15B7 head.
it failed nox's horribly like 3 times the amount of an average vehicle.
please help HT. i know im not the first to encounter this problem.
