I have a quick question. A buddy of mine sold me a b16 head which is missing some parts. (The EM1 was stolen but retrieved a week later) The car had been sitting in his back yard for a few weeks (while the insurance company evaluated the damage) and even though he had a tarp over it, Dirt (not water) got into the valve train. What would be the best way to clean everything? I don't really want to take everything apart, But I almost think it would be best to make sure there is no dirt present.

I also bought the parts that were missing from the b16 head from another friend. The cam caps and holder plates that he got were sitting in his dirty garage as well so I want to clean them all up. Would de-greaser work just fine? Or am I supposed to use some kind of special "cleaning agent" to do this? Probably a dumb question, But better safe than sorry.

Carb Cleaner

 

Carb cleaner just for the cam caps and cam holder plates, But what about the head? I basically want to flush all of the dirt and what-not out. Only problem is that the head is attached to the block still. =/ I was thinking of adding oil and just keep flushing it out.. Would that work?
