Default Brake pedal clicking?

My Prelude's brake pedal clicks when you push it down slightly. It does it when the car is off or on, driving or sitting still. I think it might be a piston inside the master cyl. because when it happens you can feel like a springy vibration in the pedal. It doesn't happen all the time though, like 80% of the time. It is kinda strange I've never felt anything like it before. any ideas?? It sounds like it is coming from the booster/master cyl. or up by the firewall on the inside like from the pedal assembly.

I've changed the pads/rotors/brake master cylinder and bled the brakes...it doesn't seem like its air in the line cus the brakes work great. It's just really annoying hearing the sound.

brake switch. It turns your brake lights on.

When I was having a weird feeling at the pedal, it turned out to be that my ABS went haywire. Try pulling the fuse and see if that's the problem or not.

Yeah, just one click. I'll check the brake switch, but it feels like a spring or something within the booster. It's really odd. I've tried taking the abs fuse out (the one in the fuse box under the hood--are there other ones?) but that didn't do anything. I did notice that while I had the master cylinder out and I pressed the brake pedal, the noise/click wasn't there. So it feels like its the rod inside the booster or something--I don't know, I'm tired from messing with it all night.

I know what Prelude I'm not buying! :p

Try getting a second person under the hood and hear where it's coming from to give you a better idea..

There is actually a TSB about this, if you put a dab of grease on the rod coming out of the booster, it will stop making the noise.

I would think its something with the booster, i dont think you would hear the master cylinder that clearly if it was making the noise. Could always get a new one, see if it fixes the noise, if not just return it then. Another guess could be the hinge mechanism itself on the pedal, could apply some grease to that perhaps. I had the same issue in my lude but with the clutch pedal.

I THINK i fixed it *knock on wood*

I took the entire master cylinder and booster off and messed with it some. After looking at, I think the piston from the mc was making contact with the daiphram of the booster. So i adjusted the rod and so far it hasnt made the noise. I'm waiting to bleed the brakes now then see if it continues to work. *hopefully*
