i would check the timing as the guy said he changed the timing. If that doesn't change your idle. I would see if you could take a picture of your wiring to see if other online users will be able to see anything funny. "although unlikely" unless its right in the picture.. lol
also, make sure the car isn't giving you any codes. Your "check engine" light wont always come on if you have an error code. You're light could be out, as our cars aren't new
hah
also, is this an obd0, or an obd1 conversion? Obviously its converted to mpfi. If it wasn't changed to obd1, you might have some bugs in your dpfi>mpfi conversion somewhere.
Also, check small things like; enough gas in the car, if your always running low on gas, you could be sucking up the crap at the bottom of the tank, causing your issues. That reminds me, check your injectors for any gas leaks, that will be directly behind your valve cover. Also, an FITV, IACV, TPS, MAP sensor could be issues as well. but, get back to us before we get into all that.

Im not sure about an obd0 as my car has been converted to obd1 for a few years. Im just gettin gback into the scene. So im trying to get back all the information i forgot. I will do some searching and get back to you. You can search on the top right corner. Something along the lines of "engine codes obd0" or something, you should be able to come across a "how-to" thread. Hopefully that helps.
And yes, your o2 sensor will cause your car to run funny. I would DEFINETLY check the wiring on the o2 sensor. It's to the left of your exhaust manifold, close to your radiator fan if i remember correctly. It should have just a few wires on a pigtail harness. (2wires i think) (dont quote me tho) it's been awhile..
If the wiring looks like it hasn't been hacked into. I would look into getting a replacement o2 sensor and seeing if that fixes your problem.
