Default how can i tell what kind of chip is in my ecu

I just got a chipped 92-95 civic ecu the other day. It says rpm 8500 and vtec on at 5200. I know it is a p28 but i dont know what brand or company the chip came from. Could i take it to a tuner shop and maybe get them to plug it up to something to tell.
