Default noob question

how can i tell what kind of transmission i have (hydraulic or cable that is)? i have a gsr tranny (96 i believe but not 100% sure).

i will assume the trans is out of the car, and all the throwout accessories are gone

larger square whole, hydraulic

small round hole with a brass bushing inside, cable

if its still there a cable trans has an arm coming out of the bell housing facing towards the end of the trans(non bell housing) and a hydraulic has a small stamped piece of steel with a rounded indent facing directly out of the opening,

if its a gsr trans theres a 2% chance its b17a1 which is cable. but if its 96' can only be hyrdo
