I recently had to replace the glass in my wing mirror and i'm having difficultly putting the glass into place. I have electric wing mirrors, and to install the new mirror it requires me to push the ball socket onto the ball joint.

The ball socket is located on the back of the mirror and the ball joint is inside the wing mirror housing. I can't seem to push the ball joint into the socket without the ball joint retracting when i attempt to push it into place.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to put the mirror back into place?
