Keeping her clean during winter
ok this is for mostly the guy from the north... how do you keep your EM2 cleaned throughout the winter... im scared of freezing something up if i got to the carwash. help cause she's lookin bad (and its taff. white).thanks
I just wash mine at the shop I work at. It's inside and its warm water so it just melts all the ice and snow right off. i usually will only wash it about once a week, but I rinse it off almost everyday.
Well bro..I'm in Buffalo, NY and sorry to tell you but there really isn't a way. I park in the garage and we have warm water. So I just wash it in there than leave my car to sit and dry for a good 2-3 hours...so I would not go to the carwash cuz you will def freeze something
I just let it sit dirty the whole winter, but I rinse it off every week to keep the salt off of it.
Or like these guys said, wash it in a garage with warm water.

Frequent waxing (this includes door jambs, 1/4 panel arch lip...anything that is painted) combined with washes/rinses will help slow the damage caused by salt. Rinsing behind the rear bumper, behind the gas cap, under the rockers (especially) is all very good practice.
I prefer storage.
I have a 95 Accord as my winter car/daily driver. It must have been a southern car because there's no infamous 1/4 panel rot AT ALL with 195,000 miles on it. I don't bother washing it during the winter because, well frankly I don't care enough. But I do rinse it 2-3 times per week to rid it of salt.
If you want to be ridiculous like myself, before the winter starts I soak all the bolts/painted metal surfaces underneath (and the bottom of the rocker panels and 1/4 panel wheel arch) with white lithium grease. It should last 2 months of daily useage before reapplying. It makes an ungodly mess but it does a superb job of protecting metal against corrosion.
Come nice weather, hit it with degreaser and you're good to go.

i wash mine Nov. 1st and dont touch it with a hose untill the 1st of april, between those times the cars is covered in rust check, oil and grease, not to mention all the salt sand and grim from the roads cover it, its pointless to wash a car here in the winter, it snows every other day and the road are almost always wet so the minute its clean its dirty again before you get home.
