As I was installing my HIDs I realized that the head, right under where the valve cover is screwed on, there was some build up of oil. It's on the front part, towards the outermost corner, of the driver side. It's a d16y8.

I'm just curious if this is common with these cars, or what this could possibly be? I didn't pay much mind to it, but I'm just curious if anyone may know what this could be. There's not much more info to give, either.

 

It could be the valve cover gasket, they're about 12 bucks and just require a torque wrench w/ 10mm socket.
