Default skill level to replace a wiring harness

my bike has been sitting for a couple of months b/c of cold weather. today was a nicer day so i decide to take it for a ride. when i tried to start the bike the fan came on and my gauge cluster was going crazy. i get the old flashlight out and look around to see at least 3 different spots where a mouse/rat ate my wire. i was thinking of patching what damaged wire i can see but the little basted chewed the wire down to the plastic plug leaving nothing to splice into and there could be damage i cant see at the moment.i have found a whole wiring harness for $50.

so the question is how hard of a job is this?

what bike? year? Normally shouldn't be too hard once you pull the fuel tank and have access to everything. Probably pull the air box too as well.

i would just rewire that one section. doing a whole harness just for that is alot of work...

It's simply a plug and play opperation... BUT it does require that you know how to use simple tools and do some fairly extensive dis-assembly and Assembly work.

if you know basic wiring work it shouldn't be to hard. Just make sure to heatshrink all connections once you are done patching it up.

I would do the whole thing because you only see those 3 spots but later on down the line, there may be some you missed and you will be diagnosing an electrical problem, which are the worst.
