NASA - CMP Yet another Great weekend for me! :) (long)
Well I am now officially not a track virgin, though I did about 10 laps @ the Jeff during hyperfest. This weekend I was able to do 4 sessions on track and it was great! For thoose who did not know I was in the Red Del Sol Si # 39.
Great Things
1. Arriving Friday Night and hearing r2x had got her comp license.
2. Having a great instructor - Bobby Haney
(Thanks Shugg)
3. Rolling a few mustangs through the carousel and outback
4. Camping with r2x, Ron Spencer and Drew
5. Ron cooking bacon for us in the morning and his cooking in general
6. Hitting 95 into the breaking zone @ turn 8
7. In My second session letting 3 cars by at the beginning of the session the passing them all back by the end of the session. (see #2 great instructor)
8. Axxis Ultimates brake pads - wow... granted I am not driving supper fast, but I was flying into turn 1, 8 and 11 and they took the abuse just fine.
9. Turn 1 @ cmp Say what you want about CMP but turn one is a great place to watch from for all of the races.
10. Seeing a Legend card do a 360 barrel roll in the air and lading on its wheels... and the driver jump out of the car.
11. The weather It was not bad nice breeze was still hot but could have been worse
Not so Great Things
1. The Hail storm that cracked my window and dented my hood up some on the way down to the track on Friday... however that was put into perspective by
2. Hearing/seeing Drew's car when I arrived @ the track on Friday
3. The Prelude SH in the novice group who saw fit to drive 1 foot from my bumper through turn 5,6,7,8 on the first novice session on Saturday and the first novice session on Sunday through 12,13,14 what an assclown move.
4. Attitudes and opinions of a few people that were unexpected
5. Corey's continued bad luck on the white flag lap on Sunday!
Great Racing Stuff
The Racing was great no major incidents except the legends car, #6 Steve Baker spun in turn one and #33 Nick Astrab Clip his rear wheel and did his 360 barrel roll, but he was fine and the car seem to have minimal damage. The Sunday AI race with Shugg and Richard Kohler, Hats off to Richard who rolled his car 3 weeks ago @ Charlotte and had it put back togther for this weekend. Him and Shugg put on a great show. The Steward Family Rx7 grudge match races. The Kink during the Honda Challenge provided some great stuff Alex R and John W. both lost it coming out of the kink, slid almost to the inside tire wall but did not hit anything. Chad Slagg in Saturdays race who went off in turn 5 in the first race then was able to pass all but Corey and jack, and Chad drove great on Sunday to finish about 5 to 10 car lengths behind Chad on Sunday. Alex R who when he went off in the kink drove like a madman and proved that the race is never over, and ending up winning, Alex you are defiantly my hard charger of the race for Sunday.
Also Special note of thanks to Chris Cobetto who has given me the opportunity to announcer and drive and participate in all of this.. it is great fun! Thanks Chris!!!!!!!

It was great meeting you too and racing the "Van"! hahahaha
The focus will probably never get any real respect, even when I start beating well-modified Hondas. Oh well, such is the curse of owning an "imported" domestic compact car. I'll get into a couple track events one day, then people won't knock the car so bad. hahaha

Focus is a sweet little car. Anyone that knocks it has obviously never driven one.
