slipping act clutch after 700 miles
i recently had the sport act clutch and pressure plate installed on my car and right after 500 miles and it started to slip slightly but i thought it was because i was riding the clutch a little to much during shifts and what not but the other day it went completely out i was at red light and could not move but after being on the side of the road for 20 or so mintutes i started it back up and 1st gear grabbed very well so i drove it home slipping the whole way. the next day i took my car around my neighborhood and it was working fine like nothing had ever happened i know its not alot of hard driving but if something was way wrong with the clutch it wouldnt work that well right? i was told maybe if i re-bleed the clutch it might fix it? also right after install when the clutch was disengaged the throw out bearing would rattle and the shop did adjust the pedel to make the noise stop. im just trying not to take to the clutch out to look at hopefully just some kind of adjustment?
no a local shop installed the clutch and they did resurface the flywheel they say and yes i drove like a grand ma for OVER 500 miles cuz i went on a road trip during the break time and that was 200 highway miles and that put it right at 500 but i still went easy on it for another 100 miles but i rarely get on my car any way no powershifting or massive burn outs
I'm pretty sure they adjusted the master cylinder. IF they didnt do it properly, the clutch would never fully engage properly and slip during stop and go.
Its likely that the engagment point is too high. So high the rod coming out of the master cylinder and connected to the pedal isnt out enough when its suppose to be engaged.
I'd adjust the pedal after bleeding.
