Default New guy

Hi all.

Justed wanted to finally stop in an register to say hello. I am actually not new to the site. I come here quite frequently. Actually pretty religiously.

Here is my Story:

I used to be the proud owner of #959.
A Pheonix Yellow Acura Integra Type R. She was Stolen on Nov 3rd 2007 while parked literally outside the window to my bedroom between 5 an 7am. It took them 27 days of me moving to this place to steal it. It took the police 3 months to find it. But what was found was not anything recognizable. I have seen counless pictures from various forums of theft recoveries and never in my days have I seen such horror. It was a frame. No wires. No glass no doors. No dash, axles, suspension. Nothing was left. Because of the severity of the dismantle, they used hooks on what was left to drag it onto an off the flatbed used to transport the carcass. It was the most horrifiying thing I have ever seen.

To make matters worse, it was still owned by the bank with 9k left.
Insurance at first would not even give the car a value cause they could not prove its value until someone went to look at it... They paid the bank (but not after I made 4 car paymens AFTER it was taken) off and nothing else.

We had reciepts for every single thing that had been done to the car.
Red Recaro seats. 2-grand brand new. Complete Comptech from headers to cat. 5grand in the motor/clutch/flywheel.

After they picked up the frame an had it appraised, they valued the car at 11,600.. Full coverage. Did not honor the reciepts. After making payments while waiting for them to find it and vakue it an the tow.. I got less then 2-grand. They basically claim it was my fault.

After such a blow I told myself I was out. Done. Never again. I bought a 93 prelude. and did not buy a single part for it. But since that day I have not been teh same. I come here every month an look at the ones for sale. I look at videos of them on youtube almost daily. I can listen to a car run an tell you if it was a Type R. I think I am pretty fanatical about the car. I want another one and I dont think I will be whole again till I do.

Does anyone else share this insanity?

I have never owned an R but kinda know where you're coming from. I want one badly and have even tried to justify maybe cashing out my 401k for one (who needs retirement anyway? lol) but yea. Hopefully some day everything will line up and I will be able to get an affordable clean CW or PY R (Black is a pain and I hate owning black cars). Good luck man and sorry to hear about your old R. That really sucks.

I think you should try again unless it will put in financial trouble. Invest in the best security possible. You only live once might as well do what you enjoy. Stuff gets stolen its the way people are.

That's a pretty grueling sight to see something that was once in your prized possession turn into some dismantled corpse. Hope you do find another R one day. I can never be happier with mine.

Worse day, ever.

Glad I am not alone. Just don't know how quickly I can afford to do it. Banks are being pretty tight these days so askin for 15 grand for a sports car without perfect credit wont go to far I bet. But who knows?

I am thinking on going with white this time though.. If/when it happens.
With this rim hopefully.

Good ole Orlando. I was living downtown and never had a problem for almost a year. I moved to colonial and 27 days later she was gone. Where I am now though I think I will be fine. Got a house with a garage and someone down the road has one that is frequently parked in the driveway an has had no problems for 3 years.

I left Orlando. I will visit some friends here and there but out of the places I have lived, Orlando is the worse when it comes to theft and the lack of cooperation from the police.

A bait car or even someone to work the inside of these organizations would curb the amount of loss. They dont care, niothing gets done and the laws are pathetic. I could be a car theif an get busted 1 in 10 times an still make enough for bail, a lawyer an not sure much jailtime. Sheesh, smoke a joint an your *** is in a sling but steal 145 cars? Slap on the wrist... Yeah, 145 cars.. Kid up here had stolen 80+ cars as a juvenile and later admitted to 145+ He was busted at 19 an got 26 days jailtime and probation. 3 days after he was out he was stealing cars again. I could have a 50.00$ bag of weed in my glove an not only would I be doing 3 months they would take my car... Where is the justice here?

Sorry to ramble. I am not very at ease with the laws of today's society. We are in need of new reformed laws IMO.

She had 63k if my memory is correct, or close to it.
As far as the vin an stuff, i will see what I can do. I would be very interested in knowing if she was/is being rebuilt and if not, where she is now. I am sure allstate auctions the shells. I recently moved so I will have to do some digging to get the vin#. I will pm you when I get it.

Thanks to all the replies. I feel much more comfy here then I did in Orlando Forums. That place is a cesspool of thieves an liars.

I have a few other threads about to start. I have some questions.
