In reference to your question about the dash, my interior of my Accord after all the mods I've done to it is completely black. There is a company out there called SEM who's products you can buy at Eastwood online, they make dyes in a 4 step process that you can use to dye any of your interior panels cleanly and without issue. It works great and I've had mine dyed for 5 months now without issue. Check it out. There is also a thread on HT somewhere about it spanning over 12 pages of different people's before and after photo's of the pieces of their interior which they've dyed.

A while ago I painted my dash with just some metallic Metalcast blue paint (from autozone). I didnt even use any primer and it held up very well. It never chipped and only wore away very slightly in a few heavy wear area's. I think any paint will due, just paint on a clean surface, and i would of course recommend primer anyway. DONT attempt to sand the dash before painting. The "Vinyl" is just a very thin layer of plastic over a foam over a plastic and metal frame. Paint works well if you dont want a new dash. And I agree black is better- Im now working on painting my dash BACK to black lol, oh well. And when your done, if done right you really cant tell the differnce between a painted dash and a stock dash. Just dont use gloss black if your going to paint it- go with a semi gloss at least otherwise it will be waaay to shiny and cheap looking. -good luck!
