Is it possible to adjust the clutch engage point on the type s?

 

Yes, if you take off the plastic shroud under the dash, lie on your back in the footwell. There is a lock nut (10mm?) that you back off and then you can spin a threaded shaft that raises/lowers the engagement point.

I'm not sure if doing this has any effect on pre-mature clutch wear.

I went from a stock clutch to a Competition Clutch Stage 4 and it was full engageda fwew inches of the floor...not good. I adjusted the pedal engagement point (as said by pcorad) and now its perfect!

Ok so I had it apart on my lunch break to check it out. Im assuming you mean the nut attached to the cable going through the fire wall. Which way should this be adjusted to make the clutch engage later rather than sooner?

 

Yup. I always forget. I simply make a pretty big adjustment and give it a quick check going in and out of the driveway. I'll take a sharpie and make a mark so I can see how many times I've spun the "rod" which I think you're calling a cable.

 

When you say spin the rod, are you referring the black thing with the coder pin through it? Also, I can’t figure out how to get that pin off with out breaking it. It’s not like a normal coder pin that you just pull out; it wraps around on one side and stops you from pulling it out.

 

That's "cotter" pin.

We're talking RSX right? When I lie on my back and am very uncomfortable, there is a rod with about 1.5 inches of thread on it that goes from the clutch pedal through the firewall. This rod has a small locking nut on the threaded section. Back off the locking nut and you can spin the rod with your fingers.
