Default Stock B16A2 + Peakboost/35R

Just wanting suggestions, not insults.

I have a stock Si.

My set-up is:
Peakboost ramhorn
Garret 35R (currently .82, looking for a .63 right now... V Band)
3" Downpipe
2.5" Piping all around
PWR Intercooler Good for roughly 400
Tial 38mm
RC 770s

I wanted a 30R but I got the manifold and turbo for the price of the turbo alone (Its brand new) So what should I be expecting?

When you tune, what kind of power will you be shooting for?

a shitload of a lag and ski jump powerband?

Thats a great turbo but a horrible turbo for your power goals. Just an fyi. Im sure itll still be fun but theres better solutions out there.

It will run good. Around 13psi should get u 320 give or take. the lag shouldent ren ally matter. .82 wii be fine too.

I ran a t4 bw366 on a stock ls it was a handfull to keep it spooled with a 7200 rpm redline.

You should be fine

i had a 35r on a worked 2l gsr motor and the lag wasnt bad but it was there. I can only assume it will be worse on a stock b16. also i think he could get to 300-320 on 8-10psi.

I would try to look for the .63 a/r housing if you can. Would definitely help out the mid range.

That's what I plan on doing.

Around what RPMs would I be at full boost?

I'm jealous you got that manifold/turbo.

Race gas + 18 pounds + your ITR cams + my tuner ...mid 400s.
Do it.

Race gas I could handle.
18lbs? Not so much unless we are talking about the future with the built block. Thats the max & pushing it. But Shad? You'd have some persuading to do.

They are JDM GSR cams

if the turbo is brand new why not sell it and get a 30r since that is what you said you wanted
if not id say 10 psi will make mid 300's easily

I do not want to hijack the thread, but would compressor surge become a factor with such a beefy turbo?

it'll be ok.. you should be able to make 300 with around 8-9lbs, but you are going to have to rev it to the moon to make the power

my buddy had a setup like that, it made 310 on 8lbs at 10700 rpms, the power was still climbing but it was a stock block and i didnt feel like cleaning up a mess in the shop. we pulled the motor after about a month or 2 of that.. the bottom end was toast, stock rods are not meant for that.

make sure you upgrade the valve train. if you keep the stockish redline w/that setup its going to fall out of boost w/every shift.

what kind of valvetrain were you using to rev to 10700rpm? were you doing that just for fun or was there a reason?

I have a Precision .57 trim also. I've had it this whole time from my old set-up. It's still in working condition, but I'm afraid anyday now that the seals will blow. & I have no goals. My only goal is to get this bitch running. Been extremely to long.

I might do a WTT thread for a 30R.

Well either way, I'm not trying to push a stock B16 to 400whp. I know its going to eventually blow up, thats why I have another block getting ready to be built. But I don't want to get it tuned and then it automatically goes pop. I'd be pissed, so I want to get some use out of it.

Another question to anyone... What should I do as far as a oil restrictor?

Why not just wait for that block to be built then put the kit on? Sounds like a pain in the *** plus a waste of your money to get 2 motors tuned for the same setup. I have a built block running NA. I'm patiently waiting to boost again, unless you want to trade blocks?

there is no way I would rather have a 30R then a 35R in this App.
