Default AP2 suspension question

Hi I'm new to the honda game and just recently bought a laguna blue ap2 and was wondering if anyone knows any lowering springs that will drop 1.5-2in.Also if you can please post some pictures of the end results of your car.

Thank you

Don't buy lowering springs. This isn't a Civic.

agreed, spend the money on a nice full coilover. personally I'm going to get the Tein Flex's, Tein's ride great and are still track worthy.

as for your original question my S had Tein S-Tech's on it when I bought it. they lower the car about an inch and ride very close to stock. I didn't notice it had aftermarket springs until I went to change the oil. in the other thread asking about springs I posted pictures of how my car sits.

Not everyone needs a coilover. A good spring is better than a shitty coilover. I'd rather have a quality $200-300 spring than a shitty *** $800 coilover system. Decent coilovers (new) start out around the $1300-1500+ range for the S2000. That being said, spending a ton of cash on something you'll never use is not smart.

OP: Tein flexes, Espelier ASDs, Spoon, and swifts all lower the car around to what you wanted.

The best way to go about your situation is to type in "S2000 lowering spring" on ebay. See which brands fit your drop criteria. Then post back or search for opinions on specific brands.

I was looking into Swifts... I heard they drop the car around an inch and are 30% stiffer over the stock springs.

GET THE ASD's... there you go... simple fix to your problem...

if you are not gonna track the car then a full coilover setup is just wasted money. just get a good quality spring kit and align the car and you're good to go. spend the rest of the money on good tires bro.

They're LOW. Depending on which way you put them on, the fronts are 2.25'' and the rears are 1.85''. There's a huge debate on how you put them on.

I used to have them...they rode awesome, and they actually handled pretty well.

Why? Name brand lowering springs are probably going to be much better quality. If you wanted adjustability, ground controls are like in the $300 range, aren't they?

More like $400... 160 for the perches then 100-120 for used tein s techs... $280-$300

Why would you put perches on Tein S techs? They only lower by about 1''. With the perches and the collars...you're back up to stock height even at the lowest setting.

It makes no sense....

Spring rates don't really matter in this case. He's looking into name brand lowering springs. Plus he's not using the car for anything special. As general information about spring rate goes....they're going to be soft.

Not sure what you mean by damper valve. Do you mean the valving of the damper? If so...the stock dampers are pretty up to the task of handling most lowering springs.

Yeah...I have no idea why the guy from Texas wants the OP to use perches on S techs. The spring has a pigtail on it...it's not flat bottomed or flat topped. There would be no adjustability unless you wanted to turn the car into an offroad beast. You could only go higher than stock.

He drives a civic and is from texas....2 strikes

If everyone searched, there would be nothing to talk about, and the forums would die off. This in turn would result in nothing but a giant FAQ. Maybe the initial post might be lame to you, but there usually ends up being more discussion down the road.

thanks that looks pretty good. How long did it take for the shocks to settle in? Did the rear drop any?

The shocks don't settle. Shocks don't affect ride height at all. Springs do.

The picture of my car is with the springs allready settled. The rear did not come down at all. The argument about Skunk2 springs states that I had mine on backwards.

I should have had the fronts on the rears and the rears on the fronts. The SKUNK2 tech that I spoke to told me to put them on the way I had them though.

There was an issue with Skunk2 not making it clear which springs to put where. Tons of people had the dillema. They just recently made it clear on their website. IIRC, mine were on backwards so my front would be higher and the rear would be lower.

Infact, my friend had the same springs and he had them on the right way. The front of the car actually sits higher than the rear if you have them on the right way. Everyone made fun of him (including me). lol it was redemption for him when I found out that he had them on the right way the whole time.

Might as well ask the question in here... how about the Buddy Club Racing Spec damper kit?

We all know the red dumped s2k

And he's on those. Since my Civic was hit and totaled, I plan on getting an s2k. I'm all about being dumped (see previous Civic) and I was considering the Tein Flexes or these Buddy Clubs. It's not too much of a price difference, so what would you all consider the better deal? As far as quality and ride quality? I understand that being that low will hinder much of the ride quality, but still..

Thanks in advance for any help.
