okay, i tried starting my newly built motor today again, and i totally forgot to put the dipstick back in after checking my oil. i went to start it up and all of the sudden i see smoke just gushing out of that little hole where the dipstick was suppose to be. the car didn't start and i don't know what's wrong?!? anyone ever have this problem?
got oil in the pan? i know a kid who forgot to replace the oil cap on the block itself and oil and sputtered out all over his engine bay. make sure you got some oil in there.
If smoke is coming out of the oil dipstick hole, it usually means one of two things.
1. the compression rings are toast and you are getting bad blow by
2. your motor is blown
Do a compression test.
