Alright so i bought a EG hatch a few weeks ago for parts... mostly the d16z6 that it's got. I really didn't pay much for it so i though what the heck, why not. So i finally got it towed to my place tonight and the damage that it has really doesn't look that bad. I was going to salvage parts and use my EJ2 as my build car but if i can salvage this one why not right? Now onto some pics, could some of you guys tell me if the damage seems repairable or if i should just take all the parts i can get off it and call it a day?

But that's the thing.. i'm wondering if this project is too big for me =S This would really be my first project car. I know that i'm kinda perfectionist so this will be a LONG project and i'm in school so money is pretty tight.

 

I'd try to get something more complete for your first project. Seems like alot of work and money. Sometimes its worth it to pay a little more and start out with something more complete. Save alot of time and money in the end.

 

Yeah, but i'm really in no rush. I know this thing is gonna take me a few years to get it how i want anyhow =S

 

Well i haven't really had time to play around with the car because I've either been sick, busy or with family after the passing away of my grandfather last week.
However i did do something with the hood from the donor car. The corner of it was wrecked anyways so i couldn't do anything with it so i decided to hang it over my bed. On to some pics. Hopefully I'll start on the car sometimes this week.

Well me and my buddy got cracking on the car tonight.. Got a lil bit of progress done.
Pretty much figured out that i won't be using this shell as the project, the body is too crappy for that. Took off the widebody kit... wow that thing was put on ghetto. In some places it was put on with rivets, others places it was wood screws. Well on to some pics.

Got some of the suspension off. I just want the springs off this suspension. (TEIN lowering springs)

Apparently VTEC is too much for this mouse to handle... Actually VTEC wasn't even wired up which made me chuckle a little bit. This thing was put together so ghetto :p

Haha, i got this EG from Gerry actually. Had to be quick to get it .
I may actually have some work for you for my EG coupe. I think that's the one i'll be fixing up after all.

I wonder if its worth it, you pretty much have to buy everything for it again. You would of been better off just to get a better shell to begin with. Good luck though, Clean her up good!

Well i'm not sure i'm gonna use this as my shell. I'll probably just end up taking my coupe and making that my project. I'll get pics of the coupe soon. It just needs some quarter panel bodywork and a new paint job (i've already picked a colour for the car )

Shouldn't be a problem, though they did install an alarm and that was a ghetto *** job so i hope they didn't ruin the harness...


Small update. Me and my buddy worked on it tonight as well. I started taking all the hoses and plugs off the engine to get it out, **** there's a lot lol. Hopefully i'll have it out by next week.
