power steering question?
I drove through a snow storm and got stuck in deep snow, somewhere along the way my power steering belt slipped off the power steering pump's pulley. So I have no power steering right now, the belt is still there without damage it's still on the crank pulley, and the other end is sitting beside the steering pump pulley.
I tried pulling it back on by hand, but of course there's not enough slack on that belt for it to get back on. It's a D16Y8 w/ power steering and A/C. Is there an easy way to do this, I have tools, and I'm mechanically inclined, but I've never dealt with this problem before.
The mechanic I usually go to closed his shop for the holidays until Jan. 5, there's other places I could go, but I already have an oil change + getting my oil pan re-sealed lined up with the mechanic anyways, he always cuts me a deal on labor.
If I can't fix this myself and decide to wait, is this gonna damage my steering rack or pump in any way?

its easy...if its still on the crank pulley...all you do is loosen up the bolts that hold the power steering pulley...the pulley will start to loosen down and you can just slip the belt right back on and pull it up a little bit so that the belt is tight and tighten all the bolts again...
