I have the same car, a Tahitian Green 1991 Civic DX Hatchback. And, I am also the original owner, 17 years and still going. I was looking at 2 cars - Toyota Paseo and Honda Civic - and I am so glad I bought the Civic. I totally agree with the advice of keeping your Civic rice-free. I still have the same engine @ 178K with a few upgrades - SI seats, JDM center console, 89 Prelude fog lights, SI rear speaker pods with aftermarket speakers, SI front lower bumper lip, SI instrument cluster, SI digital clock, Eiback springs, Motegi rims and tinted rear windows. I still have the OEM radio/casette. It's still my daily driver and work is 27 freeway miles, one-way. Soon, I will have add these: JDM sidemarkers, sideskirts, OEM mud flaps, 15" SI wheels, satelite radio inside the glove compartment. Great first car!!!!
thanx for the reply..ir has couple of dents on both sides of the fenders but after that, the body is in decent condtion..i'll keep this clean and with a jdm style on it =D...where part should i startd on first?body?motor?suspension?
Not bad at all for $1000. My first car was a '88 crx dx that i loved to death but unfortunately crx's don't do well up against a 1500 chevy pickup in a crash haha. Oh well. I now have a '90 dx hatch so all is good.
As for what you should do first: personally i would do a MPFI swap before all else simply because it doesn't break the bank in terms of cost and it makes a noticeable difference. Plus it will open up your options later in terms of swaps available and such. If you have any questions at all pm me. I'm in the San Diego area as well and always willing to lend a hand to a fellow ef lover. Keep it clean, keep it simple. Good Luck

Fix anything that is wrong mechanically, and then fix the body/interior. Then work on suspension, then work on the motor.
i bought this car from my dad.it was his daily driver before..yeah not bad for a grand..hehe..after the new year i'll be put on my integra gsr blade rims on it that my older brother gave to me as a gift..i think it would look great on it...=D
To the OP, please don't listen to this, keep it the Tahitian Green. i won't go as far as saying it's a "rare" color, but you sure as hell don't see them as often as the others. and your's looks clean as hell too. keep it that way, and good luck with it. also, don't slam it. bouncy ride = no fun.
