97 Base trans...
ok before the flaming begins, yes i have searched. but i get two diff kinds of answers. so now im severely confused.
i got a 97 prelude base model with simple cai and exhaust. the trans is now starting surge between between 1st to 2nd shifts, will a tranny flush, filter change and adding a trans cooler help at all? im trying to keep it alive till i get all the money for the 5 spd swap(finally got the gf to drive a stick).
any advice is appreciated.

trans flush can go either way. ive seen them help and ive seen them make slipping trans even worse. there is no filter that is accessible on honda auto trans. and a cooler will just keep the fluid is cooler, not really help your situation unless you are making alot more power then then the trans can support. maybe try some additive like lucas until you can afford a new trans or 5spd swap.
as you can tell this is the first auto trans ive ever owned. so pretty much just get some lucas and hop[e for the best? wow that sucks. o well s**t happens.
one other thing, i have yet to find a guide/write-up to a 5 spd swap yet. maybe im searching under the wrong title or something but i just cant find it.
