What cap & rotor do I need??

My engine is 96-97 spec JDM ITR. I tried ordering a newer ITR cap and rotor and it didn't fit. What cap and rotor do I need to order?

Did you order the right type. I know most all hondas come with either Tec or Hitachi(sp?) Distributors...and the caps and rotors are different.

 

It looks like an obd2 distributor because it has a single plug. Do the wires look cut and spliced back together for the distributor?

 

They don't look cut at all. It is a TEC distributor but, I bought a cap and rotor for a 2001 ITR. Maybe that was the problem... are 97 ITR distributors different from 2001?

Mike K. mentioned something about the older jdm motors possibly using LS cap/rotors, can anyone verify this?

Try a 97 ITR. I'm looking at my cap right now and it is identical to what you have in the pic. It's says Tec on the cap as well. I just bought a brand new cap/rotor from Acura for an ITR but yet to put it on my car.

Here is the numbers on my box if that will help to identify it.

Cap - 30102-P72-006
Rotor - 30103-P73-003

 

Looks eeriely like my older 97 LS's cap... obd2. B16 cap would also do the trick too.
