Hey there everyone, I was thinking of putting a 5.0 final drive in my car since I'm swapping a new clutch and 9lb flywheel but i was wondering if it really is a good idea? Whats ur opinion?

I would not do it for a daily driver. I'd be tempted to do it if I were drag racing, or if I wanted more torque in fourth gear to power out of a corner.

That'd probably make a little more sense for a Daily Driver.

depending on your application and what type of racing, for turbo's you generally want a lower FD, such as 4.0 or 4.3, and for NA you want a higher FD, such as 5.062

i'm thinking you should stay where you are, either a 4.3 or 4.7, since i'd suspect you'd want longer gears to get the most power out of them.

There is a great article about gear ratios in the new sport compact car. They swap the gears on the tranny of a Corolla. Check it out!

That makes more sence I think I'll just get the type r 4.7 final drive. I dont want my gears to be to short... Thanks!!!
