VIN sticker/stamp on front bumper/dealer BS
I picked up a 2009 lx-s and requested the front plate mount not be drilled when it came in. And as my luck would go, the detail guy drilled the screw in about 30 minutes before i picked up the car.
Long story short, they stood behind the mistake and said they would order me out a new oem painted bumper. When I went to pick it up, the color of the bumper was darker and yellower in color than the rest of the car. I wasn't happy, so they resprayed it and it still isn't a great match.
My questions are the following:
1. Can dealers order factory painted bumbers from honda? I know they sell factory painted accessory parts, but I've ever heard of body parts being available painted like that.
2. Is there a way to tell if they did if fact get a new bumper or just repaired the original one and resprayed it? (like some sort of VIN sicker or stamp?)
3. ^If there is an identification tag, is it visible w/out having to take the bumper off & where is it located?
Any help would be great, as I really feel they are flat out lying about how they fixed it and it still isn't right. I just want to get it sorted out. And I only oked the respray because after all this, I really don't think i'll be happy with the car in the long run, and will probably end up getting rid of it in a year or two. I just don't like being lied to and want to make sure that didn't happen.
thanks!

they can not order a body that was painted at the factory. they would have to order the part and then send it off to get repainted. for that reason is why it will not be exact color match to the factory color. the original should have a VIN number on the top area where the grill is. to see if its on the bumper you have to remove the radiator cover, which is held on by four plastic tabs(its the black cover thats ontop of the grill and has the hood latch in the middle)..
