Is a modified em2 coupe with full suspension and audio worth trading for a stock ep3? Just curious

 

IMO no. If you think the EP3 is under powered just drive that around for a day or 2.

 

the em2 is lighter, and the k20 is watered down compared to other standard k20's

 

EP3 hands down!

Hey! My friend's sister has an EM2! It has the VTEC motor and it really sucks *****. Don't trade it for an EP. And plus... You want audio, then buy audio for the EP3. A hatchback will have better aftermarket audio qualities than a coupe any day. Sub woofers love hatchbacks. Just don't go rice and over do it. Keep the EP3. Stock it is better than a modded EM.

 

i like the em2 better than the ep3. but if i bought an em2 it would be to do a k swap and dc5 brembo conversion. i hear you can even put the whole rsx dash and seats in but if your gonna go through all that trouble might as well have just gotten an RSX

i say it depends on your plans for the EM2 compared to the ep3. either way youd probably be smart to swap the motor out of either car. d17 = junk lol. good runnin motor but slow as uphill rain. ep3 not much faster but you are already K ready. i say weight out your options and go from there. both chassis are the same as far as suspension with the exception of no 5lug in the em/es chassis. em2 is lighter and i think turns out better and more well behaved under real K power. a stock em2 that parents bought for graduation present = girl car but a full modded/swapped em2...well it might be a girl car but it would be hard for you to hear anyone say that when they are way behind you. bottom line its your car do what u like. you wanna trade go for it but think about it.... alot!

 

The EM2 looks a hell of a lot better than the EP3... but the D17 is just an embarrassing engine.

The cars are basically identical suspension and chassis wise... so it comes down to what your plans are for the engine and drivetrain. If you are planning a Kswap, Id go with the EM2 in a heart beat. They can made to be quite potent cars given the right modifications. And no one really expects them to be...
