Default HID's

Hi, I am new to this site. I currently got a 2006 Honda Civic Lx. I'm not sure which site to get HID's from. Most of them are scammers, so I was wondering if you guys can tell me where did you guys get it from.

Thanks

Ebay?? Do what you want with your car.. Dont let other opinions sway your vote.. Just be sure to adjust your lowbeams if you do get a plug and play kit.. You will need to lower the angle of the beam which wil help to reduce the glare put into oncoming traffic..

People will argue about HID kits on here all day if you bring them up. Do what you please with your car.. Customlights car be weird looking to since civics dont come with projectors and thats what they use.. "shrugs shoulders" do what youwant...

Mod-express.com

When you go to check out, type Hondatech in the coupon code bar, and you'll get like $70 off the price. I had one problem with a relay harness and the guy responded within the hour and I had the new relay in a couple days. Affordable prices, good products, and very good service. No complaints at all.

Very well said. I adjusted my PnP HIDs in my stock housings and they illuminate the road really well. There is even kinda a cut off and practically no glare.

I just ordered some at http://vvme.com/

I haven't got the chance to install them so I don't know how good the quality is. But the shipping was very quick even though it came from China.

LOL, thats what all owners of PnP HID say until they are at the other end of the spectrum getting blinded.

The fact is that the light is shot all over the place with a PnP kit and when you put a retrofit car up side by side with a PnP car the retrofit lights up more of the road and has more usable light than the PnP car.

But if you are a super low baller and after a look only and just dont care that you are half assing it by all means get a PnP kit.

You know you're going to have to replace at least the bulbs when you go to the projectors (which I'd strongly recommend if you're going to do this at all).

So instead of saving up to do it right, you're going to half *** it now and end up spending more money in the long run. I think I got quoted right about 1000 bucks to send my headlights in, have them retrofit some S2k projectors, shrouds, etc and send me the whole thing back as a plug-n-play kit from Customlightz posted up there at the top.

Your fact might be true if I hadn't driven another car, while someone drove my car behind me, and also passed in the opposite direction. I was **** about getting it just right, and probably adjusted it 20 or so times before I was happy with it. I have very very sensitive night eyes (some nights regular halogens on a Cherokee bother me), and my lights bothered me no more than TSX projectors.

A retrofit (or any projector for that matter) definitely does not illuminate the road any better than my setup does. The projector just provides a much straighter and cleaner cutoff. That is the only thing that I would desire from a retrofit setup, because frankly, I think that the retrofit looks hilarious on an 8th gen. 90% of people that get the retrofit are just buying it to say they "did it the right way" or to establish their "baller status". For the other 10% that have $1000 to blow on a setup that produces nominal gains for the money (compared to a well adjusted Pnp), more power to them.

It's not about making nominal gains, but rather, not looking like a ricer.

People who are spending $1000 on a retrofit are getting all kinds of custom stuff. With shipping a basic HID retro fit is around $400 tops and a NEW Phillips D2S retrofit kit for $360 like the one below.

I don't think I'll do retrofit since it's gonna be so much, but I might do the PnP kit since the good ones are around $100-300 dollars.

Thanks guys

The basic is $400 if you supply your OEM headlights, which the majority of people do not do. Buying seperate headlights to send them, or having them supply the lights is what brings up the price.

Are you kidding me? That comment in itself is rice. Buying a retrofit shouldn't be about how your car looks, it should be about improving your ability to see the road in front of you, which both the retrofit and PnP do. Besides, projectors on a Civic look a lot more rice than HIDs in a stock housing.

PnP Do put out glare.. but not as much as people suspect. I do retrofits.. yea they are good and provide cleaner and the correct way to provide HID light. PnP Kits are not "that bad" I have a PnP kit in my wifes 01 Accord and have NEVER been flashed.. I must say the patten is nothing like my S2K's. But do the job, But I will be replacing them with projectors again.

I disagree. Any vehicle with properly set-up headlights will look less rice than a vehicle with a PnP kit in halogen housings.

If you don't have the money to do your car right, don't do your car at all. It's like those people that buy "hawt new rims"...2 at a time.
