Will a bad iacv cause this...
...Im throwing a code 14 (iacv)
Its on a JDM D15b VTEC and I know the sensor is bad because it was broken when the motor was shipped, not all the way off but enough to cause concern, then sure enough when I get the swap running BAM! CODE 14
Anyways the rpm's surge @ idle and the throttle response is kinda weak. Almost sounds like its missing through low rpm's (2-3500 rpm) then picks up.
Ive checked and checked the timing and Im positive it dead on.
Any and all info will be greatly appreciated (**** off **** talkers)

Well if the IAC is messed up its best to go ahead to replace it anyways. Probe it with a voltmeter and check it first, and then for resistance,if you have a tight budget and can't just go and replace it so easily.
well i dont know how well the carb cleaner would do seeing how the sensor is actually broke itself, right where the engine harness plugs into the sensor. im actually surprised that it clips together.
ill just replace it and go from there....
thanks guys!

Im running an Mini-Me Swap and i have idle surges and occasionly my motor will stall at stop lights and all. Im running what could possibly be the problem. IACV? How do i know if its bad? Where exactly is it located at? The motor was orginally a D15B7 and now its bored out with a D16Y8 VTEC head on it. Does it need an IACV for a Y8 head? Please help me. Thank YOu
People open threads to find help from others and the problem never gets answered. I find the Honda-Tech is not the place to find good information, just lots of kids with nothing to do with smart remarks. Lets tighten up the Honda Community. NO HOMO!
this is an opinion, but constructive.

Maras, I can't agree more. I've stopped using this site for the most part. All people do it post "BUMP!" everywhere and flame each other. **** Honda Tech. Bunch of teenagers and riceboys trying to one up each other because they have egos.
I have question about IAC wire colors. I have a + Yellow/Black & - RED. I am throwing a code 14. 3 known good ECUs and 3 IAC all good. Checked the IAC with battery and valves open. So it's a short or open - wire. I question the -red wire!? it's usually a Black/blue. I want to trace the wire back to the ECU and wanted to make sure with someone with more knowledge about the issue before I start. Does the - IAC wire go through the driver side fire wall? & when does it change to Green/white to the ECU. I would greatly appreciate someones thought and knowledge about this issue. Thank you!
