Long story short I need to replace my hood and fender. MAACO quoted me $442.40 to paint the replacement hood and fender. I found the hood and fender on www.hondaautomotiveparts.com but they seem to be unpainted, is there a place I can buy these prepainted for a reasonable price?

Also, what do you think about getting non-OEM parts from someplace like this?

No, OEM parts don't come painted unless it's a lip, spoiler, mirror, etc. Hoods, fenders, door shells, trunks, etc. DO NOT come painted. You have to get a body shop to paint them.

 

Non OEM is fine, or try a junkyard for a cheaper OEM product. Many aftermarket parts are plastic instead of metal, so just keep that in mind and look for the metal ones if that's what you want.

 

this is true. i work in the parts warehouse and all the fenders, hoods, doors, etc are black. ready to paint.

 

yup i did the same for awhile shipping and receiving manager regal honda acura.... the main reason why these parts dont come painted is because damage during shipment and it would cost honda to much money to pay for damages and what not idk if you ever seen the honda truck on its first few deliveries they slap it full !!

I did a search to see if anyone has pointed this out already and didn't see anything, but I thought it looked pretty legit. Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone that was looking for pre-painted pieces.

 

Hey since this is your second post, and youre obviously kinda new, I'll give you a little heads up. People here get a little upset when you bring a "dead thread" back to life.
